For the start of critical systems, the distribution of the start key is used among several decision-makers who have rights to start the system. Recent trends in the security of such systems from attempts to start them by unauthorized persons are associated with the use of some image as a smart key. At the same time, by the time of start, the image must be restored with a sufficiently high quality and quickly. To solve the problem, it is proposed to use cryptographic systems for an image secret sharing. The speed and quality of image key recovery using four popular secret sharing schemes have been investigated. It was found that the Shamir’s scheme satisfies both requirements to the greatest extent.
